Yet Another Kind of March Madness

For those of you going through (temporary) KidVid Tournament 2008 withdrawals (fear not -- more matchups will follow soon...), Jeff from Out With the Kids is running his own tournament, the OWTK NCAA Kid's Music Tournament, featuring 12 recent releases battling it out for Spring '08 review supremacy. It looks like the Final Four is almost set, but that's when the voting really counts, right?...

I'm My Biggest Fan

Actually, until today I was my only fan.

But, yes, now the Zooglobble Facebook page has two fans -- me and Muddy Girl Productions' honcho Karen Rappaport McHugh.

Wait? What's that? Zooglobble has a Facebook page? But why?

I have no idea. Much like I have no idea why I got a Myspace page. But I've had it for about 3 months now. If you're looking for someone who will tentatively embrace a website a good 18 months after it becomes popular, I'm your guy. Watch for the Zooglobble Flickr page this fall and Twitter site in spring 2009.

Anyway, if you're around, do stop by.

Spare The Rock. Now With Twice the Rock.

I've been late in announcing this (mostly because I figure most people reading this are reading Bill's site, too), but Bill and Ella over at Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child have made a big move to a commercial radio station, 93.9 The River in Massachusetts and Vermont. Well, "move" might not be the best verb, because they're still broadcasting on Valley Free Radio, but the fact that they're now also broadcasting on commercial radio puts them in pretty select company -- I'm only aware of Belinda and Hova at Greasy Kid Stuff who are doing rock (or rawk) shows for kids on a commercial station.

Good on them.

Gosh, A Playdate? OK, I'll Bring the CDs

Hola! and welcome to those of you stopping by from Babble's Strollerderby. Amy kindly gave me a shout-out yesterday and, yes, I'm happy to bring the CDs. Got plenty of 'em... What kind of snacks are you bringing?

A Small, Self-Serving Reference

I don't note every last reference to this website from other reaches of the web, but when an article nails a particular album so much more succinctly than I ever could, I feel the need to share (even beyond the kind words the author saves for this site). Discussing Buck Howdy's Chickens, author Sarah Bardeen writes:

"We're still lamenting the lack of fart jokes (a mainstay of previous albums) but Buck Howdy did so well with this album of chicken-fried kiddie country that we're prepared to forgive him."

Yes, I've now used the word "fart" on this website for the, er, second time.

Read the whole list here and listen to a playlist of about 2 dozen tracks from a whole bunch of CDs here.
