Robert Schneider Is Really Enthusiastic About Robbert Bobbert

I'm just about ready to post a review of the self-titled debut album from Robbert Bobbert and the Bubble Machine, but before I do, I thought the clip below (from ABC News' "Amplified" program) was a decent enough interview with Robbert Bobbert himself, Robert Schneider. It starts out focusing a little bit on recording tracks for the next Apples in Stereo album, but then moves into talking about the kids CD.

Schneider is an animated man, but I've seen just enough of him to realize that's just the way he is. "Spastic," he self-deprecatingly calls himself before modifying that to "enthusiastic." Props, too, to Schneider for calling "Pop Goes the Weasel" a great pop song.

(Note: minor ad prior to piece. Ad seems to change from time to time. Will it turn into the 2009 version of the great Laurie-Berkner-hair-debate, who knows?)

Fun interview. I like parts of the record a ton and other parts, less so.

Ad's totally different, just as an aside. The Berkner ad was all over in the room she was in. That read a lot like an endorsement by Berkner. An ad before the clip, for a clip that's only tangentially aimed at kids? Different thing.

I agree with Bill. I didn't even see an ad.

LOVE this interview! Whole new perspective. And I LOVE what he said about singing in a group. LOVE it.

Yeah, I didn't think the ad was bad, but since it was being rotated, who knew what might pop up? (At least once I got an ad for Ensure, which seems to be a little out of the target market, no?)

Oh, and what I forgot to say was that it sorta shows the spectrum: if you're willing to be filtered (ie, the news), then the ads aren't so bad. If you choose to be unfiltered, you're either going to have to pick up the cost yourself, or potentially get into odder situations, advertisingly.

I just don't think the ad had anything to do with him; they do those preroll ads on every clip from ABC, I'm fairly sure. The Berkner thing was clearly part of the deal (and had a specific, and problematic, message).

My ad was an AHA prevent-heart-disease ad, btw.
