Yes, I Do Indeed Like Ralph's World

Glenn Whipp, one of the few reviewers granted the privilege of running occasional kids' music reviews in a major daily newspaper, has a nice story on Ralph Covert this morning which also contains some praise for Covert's Ralph's World music from yours truly. (And, no, I did not ask for the adjective "excellent" to be appended to a description of this site.)

I like Glenn's reviews, if only because he's just as big a fan of "Cavemen!" as I am.

He also got a nice list from Covert of "adult" songs for kids, which include selections from Fountains of Wayne, Tally Hall, Kasey Chambers, and the Who.

Yay! Thanks for YAKMA, especially one about Ralph. I love the list of recommended songs--Squeeze's "Pulling Mussels From a Shell" is one I never would have thought of. My girls also love "Hey Julie" by Fountains of Wayne--my husband put it on a mixed kids/adult music CD he gave me last Christmas which he called "The Chauffer Series, Vol. 1-4." The song is just so darn fun and poppy. But I'll have to listen to "Kill Amanda" before I play it for my kids. I can't get past the violent title. We're tapping our toes with excitement to see Ralph this Sunday in Seattle. Yay!!!
