Contest: Win Some Jiggle Jam Stuff!

JiggleJam3.jpgLast year, I was a pretty big fan of the KC Jiggle Jam. When the lineup was announced about a month ago, I became an even bigger fan, saying "it's just a question as to whether the Jiggle Jam is the best family music lineup this year or the best family music lineup ever."

Well, even if you can't make it to the KC Jiggle Jam, held Memorial Day weekend (May 23-24, 2009), you can still take in the show vicariously. The good folks at the Jiggle Jam have offered up a prize pack to a lucky Zooglobble reader that even folks stuck in Antarctica for the next six months can take advantage of. One lucky reader will win a t-shirt, hat, and a compilation CD featuring most of the Jiggle Jam artists. To enter, write a comment below with (may as well help out the Jiggle Jam folks) the one thing besides the music that a kids music festival absolutely must have. All entries due by 11 PM Central Daylight Time Monday night; one entry per family, please. I'll pick the winner randomly. Thanks and good luck.

(PS -- Unfortunately, I can't go -- I'm going camping -- but Jeff from Out With The Kids is. Lucky guy.)

Absolutely, positively have to have plenty of bathrooms, well-marked and easily accessible (think of those nervous parents with potty-training kids!).

Hand-washing stations. Great for outside of the porta-potties but also wonderful for cleaning up sticky hands and faces.

Not-too-expensive treats that appeal to kids but aren't too unhealthy. Think, Rice Krispie Treats or chocolate dipped strawberries on a stick (called Shishkaberries in Seattle).

I love all of these ideas. And we at Jiggle Jam have already have most of these covered. Bathrooms, we have many porta-poties, as well as some indoor bathroom options. We have a group who puts together a changing station and nursing room tent that offers shade, privacy, and fully equipped with changing tables and rocking chairs. We've done our best to provide healthy food vendors who serve grilled cheese, PB&J, pizza, apple juice. We even have falafels! i think everyone attending will be pleasantly surprised by our amenities. Most of us on the board are parents, so we know the comforts that we all desire at out door festivals. We are in count down mode now!!! And we are so excited.

We are driving up from Texas to attend Jiggle Jam with our 2 1/2 year old son. Hope to have awesome weather, plenty of bathrooms and changing areas, affordable snacks and drinks and a shady place to escape to if it gets too warm. Can't wait!!

We loved JJ last year. We are bringing more people this year! We would love to have more seating in the shade. It was a little warm last year in the sun.

Ice for water bottles and cooling down after a hot set of dancing, jumping and shouting 'Hurray!'

Thanks for all the suggestions (I'm sure they're useful not just for the KC folks but for others thinking about (or actually putting on) festivals in their own cities and towns.

Entries are closed. I will e-mail a randomly-selected entrant soon!
